Auxiliary Verb কাকে বলে?

যে সব verb বাক্যের মূল verb (main verb) এর সাথে ব্যবহৃত হয়ে, Main verb এর Tense, Mood, Voice এর অর্থকে স্পষ্ট করে প্রকাশ করতে সহায়তা করে তাদেরকে Auxiliary Verb বলে। 

 Auxiliary verb মূল verb এর Tense, Mood, Voice কে express করতে সহায়তা করে। 

Tense

• She was crying all night.
• He had eaten the whole pizza.
• He was waiting for two hours.
• We will be waiting for you outside the hall.
• She has been studying for the last 4 hours.

 Mood

• Did it go according to the plan?
• Do try our new products.
• Did they win today's match?
• Don’t forget your keys.

 Voice

• The steak was eaten by them.
• This work will be done by the worker.
• The Net connection will be activated by tomorrow.
• The fish fry was eaten by the cat.

Modal Auxiliary Verbs

Auxiliary verb এর মতো আরেক ধরনের verb আছে, যার নাম Modal Auxiliary Verbs.

Example:  can, could, may, might, must, ought to, shall, should, will, would.

এধরনের Modal auxiliary verbs বাক্যভেদে পরিবর্তিত হয় না। 

Example:

• Either side could win today's match, or it could be a draw.
• We shall heal our wounds and keep moving.
• We must focus to see the light during the darkest moments. 

Auxiliary verb সংক্রান্ত আর কিছু গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয়ঃ

Could of, Should of, Would of ব্যবহার করা পরিহার করুন

Could have (could've), Should have (should've), Would have (would've) এর ব্যবহার করুন।

Can - ability, May - permission.

• I can swim. (I have the ability to swim)
• May I go to the washroom teacher? (Am I permitted to go to the washroom, teacher?) 

*** তবে informal setting এ অনুমতি নেবার ক্ষেত্রে can ব্যবহৃত হতে পারে।

• Can I have some cookies, grandma?
