Use as a preposition/conjunction:

1. Used for unequal comparisons.

একটি ঘটনার ঠিক পরে আরেকটি ঘটনা ঘটেছিল বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Example:

• No sooner had we reached there than it started to rain. (আমরা সেখানে পৌঁছাতে না পৌঁছাতেই বৃষ্টি শুরু হল।)
• Hardly had we started our journey than the car was out of order. (আমরা কেবল আমাদের ভ্রমণ শুরু করেছিলাম আর গাড়িটা নষ্ট হয়ে গেল।)
